Angband: The Hells of Iron
Morgoth the master of Suaron had an ego as big as the red eye's. TO proclaim his greatness he decided to build a place of awe and might to spread his dark will from one central point. First he built Otumno and Angband but Otumno was destroyed and Angband rebuilt. Thus Angband the Hells of iron became his fortress threw out the first age. It must have really dwarfed even barad Dur but that is only an assumption based off of a few guesses from Tolkien's relatively vague description of the stronghold. In Angband there was all kinds of bad guys like Balrogs, orcs, and maybe even vampires. We also know that wolves also served the black hand. Sadly for Morgoth his ego failed to defeat the forces of light and his pride drownd by punishment when at last the Valar rounded him up with the elves and men and not only destroyed Angband but also the area of Arda on witch it was shaped and formed. Too bad for morgoth. Should have stuck with the theme of Iluvitar. Every bad guy wants a manchin. Why not mellkor AKA Morgoth?
