The Fyrian Wood
The Fyrian wood or whispering wood was a forest in the midst of witch was situated a hill known as the Fyrianholt in the center of the old realms in exile. It was later taken over by the people of Rohan and held an interesting secret for many years. Isildur laid to rest his father on the top of the mound in a tomb but Later the tomb was removed and the remains brought to the silent street's tombs in Gondor's white city Minas Tirith. On that same hill in the Fyrian wood the oath of eorl was also first spoken witch established Rohan as a separate kingdom and also an ally of Gondor. Thank you and may the bows of the Ridermark keep the forces of morgul at bay.
The Language of Rohan
The people of Rohan spoke mainly old English or Anglo Saxon as it is most commonly known. Now we don't read too much of it but we do know that greetings such as "WestueTheodinhal" witch I have spelled fanedically as one word hear came directly from ancient texts with the exeption of elvish names witch might have cropped up once and a while. The lanuage of the old north men from who the roherim where desended however was actually perhaps gothic in oragin since the name Leod for example who was the father of eorl and many other old north men names are gothic. I will go in to mor detail on this point later. Good luck if you luck we shall call it and may the stars of the Valar guard your every step.

More About Beowulf
Last time i wrote about Beowulf I forgot one important fact. You see, Tolkien used the Roherim as kind of old english wariors like vikings with horses? Well they origanly spoke gothic I believe and I think I now know why. On the Tolkien Professor podcasts witch I have avidly relistened to I have discovered that Tolkien thought that the people of the middle ages who wrought Beowulf actually screwed up when they wrote that the wariors of Beowulf came from "Geetland" and that they actually ment the Goths. The Roherim are like the anglos sacksin people so it can be asumed that this must have had an impact
Translating the name Gandalf
The name Gandalf means magic using elf according to the peoples of Arnor in the north. It has also been translated as an elf with a wand but I can not confirm this. You can look up this fact in Unfinished Tales and discover the same thing in the History Channel episode "Tolkien's monsters." Thanks
Olorin
Who was olorin?
Olorin was the true name of Gandalf in the Undying lands. It comes from the elvish word Oro witch means vision or dream. This would be suitable since it says in the Valiquenta that Olorin AKA Gandalf inspired elves to wisdom by fleeting visions of peace. I hope that this fact has been of interest.

The Barad Dur
The Barad Dur was the fortress of the dark lord Sauron built around the time he grew in grate power during the early years of the second age. He was driven from the fortress three times. First the Dunidain captured him. Then Sauron got beat to a pulp at the hand of isildur. Then at last the dark lord was defeated when the one ring was unmade and his ghost fled to waste places never to return. My next blog should be on Angband
Angband: The Hells of Iron
Morgoth the master of Suaron had an ego as big as the red eye's. TO proclaim his greatness he decided to build a place of awe and might to spread his dark will from one central point. First he built Otumno and Angband but Otumno was destroyed and Angband rebuilt. Thus Angband the Hells of iron became his fortress threw out the first age. It must have really dwarfed even barad Dur but that is only an assumption based off of a few guesses from Tolkien's relatively vague description of the stronghold. In Angband there was all kinds of bad guys like Balrogs, orcs, and maybe even vampires. We also know that wolves also served the black hand. Sadly for Morgoth his ego failed to defeat the forces of light and his pride drownd by punishment when at last the Valar rounded him up with the elves and men and not only destroyed Angband but also the area of Arda on witch it was shaped and formed. Too bad for morgoth. Should have stuck with the theme of Iluvitar. Every bad guy wants a manchin. Why not mellkor AKA Morgoth?

Hello this blog is on the term
Evellon
Or Elf Friend in Sindarin
It means that one is related to both a warrior of old and an elf or more commonly used to describe just a friend of the elves like Gimli and Aragorn for example. So thank you my faithful Elvellons

Elvellon Elf Friend
Elvellon Elf Friend
It is a term used to describe one dear to the Eldar or related to them as well as to warriors of old threw heritage. Examples
Gimli Gloin's son
Aragorn
Turin
and Berrin
Turin, Berrin, and Gimli are all elf friends who are just friends of elves but Aragorn and as it is explained in the Hobbit Elrond are both related to men and elves
I drew this view from the Hobbit Radio drama so the assumption that elf friends extends to the Dunidain and the Half Elven may be incorrect but we can be sure that the half elven are at the ver least as implied from there title friends or related to the Eldar or Ivari. The Dunidain are also friends with elves and so they are perhaps considered Elf Friends. The Sindarin term Elvellon witch means elf Friend was likely derived when the Sindar first made alliances with the Edain. More can not be said on this matter
