The Lord of the Rings- Part 5
Besides the battles mentioned in the trilogy there we're many other clashes between good and evil during the war of the ring. Orcs attacked both Lorian and the territories bordering Mirkwood at the same time as the battle of the Pelenor fields in Gondor. In the Appendences to the Lord of the Rings The Return of the King we discover that the orcs of Dol Guldor swept in to Dale and the Lonely Mountain where they we're met by an army of elves and dwarves. The second battle of Dale was so significant that Gandalf Explains to Frodo and company that they must never forget the velar of the dwarves and wood elves when compared with the struggle of the Pelenor. The fact that Gandalf is willing to downplay or at the least juxtipose the victory of aDale with that of Gondor in which he played some part shoes his honesty as a reporter of great tidings as well as the importance of the battle of Dale itself. In that conflict before the gates of Arabor it is said that Dain Ironfoot fell despite his old age. This character shoes up in the appendices as well as my blog on the hobbit. For more details see my past blog on what I think about the Hobbit and Tolkien’s writings after the publication of his first draft of that particular story. Attacks in Lorian don't seem to be too successful as far as I'm concerned but there is little evidence to suggest otherwise. With the eleven rings both Galadriel and Elrond of Rivindell might have been more luckier then most. Perhaps forces came out of Dol Guldor. These battles have been elaborated and expanded by the ringers who made the Battle for Middle Earth games. I worn you that much of what they put up on their games is highly distorted and a collection of half-truths melded in to a very cool video game. Yet I do not condemn such works of fan fiction since they help spread more information about tolkiensveryks. I think that the Hobbit video game is very current about that is just me speaking after all. I have run out of catch fraises to end these blogs but I promise you next time I won't disappoint you.
Peter Jackson's Adaptation of Helms Deep
Fans of the books and the movies beware when dealing with the film version of the Two Towers since it contains significant changes when compared with the book. Since my last mini-blog was about the outbreak of the war of the ring, I thought I wood write down a few differences this pivotal seen in the book has in relationship to the movie. In the movie Gandalf talks about Théoden’s decision to go to helms deep as though it was a disaster waiting to happen. In the book Gandalf is the one who convinces him to go and fight the orcs in the first place. The next key difference between the film and the book is that Marry and Pippin don't convince the Nets to help the fellowship with turns the tide in the novel while in the movie they humorously sway tree beard in to joining forces with the proactive members of the company of the ring. Finally it is Archenbrand and not Eomar lord of the mark who saves the forces at helms deep in the books. Why the hell Eomar did not take part in the battle in the movie I cannot say. I hope you have enjoyed this knew mini-blog.
A Quick Announcement
I know that it has been a long time since I continued my blogs on middle earth and I’m hoping to reestablish a firm hold over my ability to mass-produce these blogs on a regular basis. As a result, I have determined to write this small blog on this very email page using what ever limited emailing skills I currently posses.
The Lord Of the Rings Part 4
I'm sorry that I've haven't written any thing knew lately but do to technical problems arising from my print disability I have sadly been kept from copying anything knew with out my brail devise known as a brail note. In the meantime I ask that you consider the following topic witch I’ve only just studied in grate detail-- the epic out brake of the war of the ring. The war of the ring is essentially the conflict created by Sauron in order to reclaim his precious ring from the free peoples of middle earth and thus gain possession over the entire world through his own overmastering iron will. This war began in Rohan at the battle of helms deep or the battle of the horn burg as some people like to call it. In that struggle the company of the ring deliberately joined forces with to Roherrim AKA the horse lords of the mark, in order to beat back the evil wizard Saruman's attack that allied himself with Mordor. The following battles mentioned in the lord of the rings like the battle of the Pelenor fields are very extensive and I no longer have the time to recount them but in the meantime please watch the movies or read unfinished tales. Once again I apologize if this blog is too short but I am in haste as Gandalf often says.
Good luck and remember to keep your feet from wondering or there’s no knowing where you will be swept oft too.
